
WHAT DOES THE CERTIFICATE NEED TO SHOW?
In order to be an uberX partner, you will need to provide a copy of the Victorian registration certificate for the vehicle you will be using on your account. It will need to display the following:
- Name of registered vehicle owner (does not need to be your name but must be in a person’s name)
- Valid expiry date (must be in the future)
- Year and Make of Vehicle (must match insurance document)
- Registration number
WHERE DO I GET MY REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE?
OPTION 1 (Receive your registration immediately!)
In-person: VicRoads Office
Cost: $16.90 – pay by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card
Bring the following information to your local VicRoads office in order to request a registration certificate:
- Vehicle registration plate number
- Name of the registered owner
- Current Victorian Driver’s License
- Note: If you are not the owner of the vehicle, you must provide an original letter of authority to obtain the certificate.
- Visit the official VicRoads site to see how to obtain a letter of authority. You must provide your own photo licence or meet other full Evidence of Identity requirements if you are getting the certificate on behalf of the vehicle’s owner.
OPTION 2 (~10 Business Days)
Online
Cost: $16.90 – pay by Visa or Mastercard
- The certificate will be posted to the address of the owner of the vehicle. It can take up to 10 working days to receive the certificate.
OPTION 3 (~10 Business Days)
By Phone
Call VicRoads on 13 11 71
Cost: $16.90 – pay by Visa or Mastercard

Once you receive the certificate, please email it to vicdocs@uber.com or upload it to the vehicle on your account via partners.uber.com.
