Summer is here – so is the Ashes Cricket Series!
The Boxing Day Test this year will see Melbourne host the Australia vs. England match. Traffic disruptions will take place between 26-30 December on roads surrounding the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
In particular, Wellington Parade will be closed at the end of the day’s play to allow attendees to safely exit the precinct.
Hours of play:
This will be a match played over five days, from 26-30 December 2017.
- Session 1: 10.30am-12.30pm
- Lunch: 12.30pm-1.00pm
- Session 2: 1.00pm-3.00pm
- Tea: 3.00pm-3.30pm
- Session 3: 3.30pm-5.30pm
*Note: Hours of play may change if time is lost due to bad weather, or if minimum numbers of overs have not been bowled.
Road closures
The following roads will be closed between 26-30 December 2017:
- Brunton Avenue: 7:30am – 7:00pm
- Jolimont Street and Jolimont Terrace: 8:00am – 7:00pm
- Wellington Parade: 5:30pm – 6:00pm*
*End time may vary depending on the state of the match.
