
Uber Eats customers will soon be able to upload photos of items they have ordered from select restaurants in Australia and New Zealand.
Any photos that pass the review may be used to showcase menu items that did not previously have a restaurant-submitted photo available, making it easier for other customers to explore and discover your great food.

- How does this process work?
- Only verified customers that have recently purchased a menu item from your restaurant can upload a photo via the Uber Eats app.
- Once an order is completed, a customer may see the option to add photos of items they have taken in the standard post-checkout “Rate your order” screen
- If they tap on “Add photos”, they will be able to submit photos for one or more menu items
- Uber Eats will then review the photos to ensure it meets our guidelines, including our User-Generated Content Terms. Photos may be lightly enhanced to improve clarity, such as adjusting lighting or blurriness.
- Any photos that pass the review may be used to showcase menu items that did not previously have a restaurant-submitted photo available. This may be displayed on your restaurant’s Uber Eats store page, other areas within the Uber Eats app, or used in other ways as part of Uber Eats’ business and services.
- All photos will be subject to our Terms of Use and User-Generated Content Terms.
- How do I remove user-generated content photos?
If you would like to remove user-generated content from your restaurant menu, you can simply go to Menu Maker in Uber Eats Manager to remove the item photo(s), just like you would modify or remove your own menu item photos.
- I want to upload photos for my own restaurant
- Log in to Uber Eats Manager and open Menu Maker
- Navigate to the ‘Items' tab in Menu Maker, and click on the item you wish to upload a photo for
- At the top of the ‘Item detail’ page you will see a ‘Photo’ section where you can add your desired photo
- Once you’ve uploaded your photo, click "Save" in the top-right of the page to submit the photo for approval. The ‘Item detail’ page will then be temporarily locked, and no further edits will be allowed until the photo has been reviewed
- In the ‘Items’ tab in Menu Maker, you will be able to see the status of all of your uploaded photos. A status indicator icon next to each menu item lets you know whether a photo is still in review or has been rejected
- If your photo has been approved, you will see that the photo is no longer grayed out, and it will be next to the menu item in the ‘Items’ tab. The photo will also be visible on the item detail page.
- If your photo has been rejected, you will see the reason(s) for rejection on the item detail page and receive an email from our team with further instructions.
