HOW DO I BECOME AN UBERBLACK PARTNER?
Existing Chauffeur Drivers and Operators
- Visit the DPTI and update your plan of operation including Uber in ‘section one’
- Attend an Uber onboarding and information session (details below) and bring your:
- SA Driver’s Licence
- SA Driver Accreditation Card
- SA Operator Accreditation (if applicable)
- Vehicle Insurance (Public Liability)
- Vehicle Registration
Taxi drivers or new to the industry
- Taxi Accreditation: Go to DPTI and receive a “SP” sticker for your accreditation card or,
- New drivers: Complete medical assessment, criminal history check, two half day training courses and driving assessment
- Attend an Uber onboarding and information session (details below) and bring your:
- SA Driver’s Licence
- SA Driver Accreditation Card
- SA Operator Accreditation (if applicable)
- Vehicle Insurance (Public Liability)
- Vehicle Registratio
HOW TO BE YOUR OWN BOSS
For a limited time, Uber will guarantee your fares will cover your accreditation and vehicle costs in your first month!
To qualify, work with Uber for 50 hours a week and Uber will guarantee a minimum $6000 worth of fares in your first month to get you on your feet and cover your set up costs.

What car can I drive?
Uber does not own any vehicles. Uber works with licensed and accredited operators with TV or MV plated vehicles. To begin driving with Uber you have two options, either invest in a luxury hire car (on DPTI approved list) such as a Holden Caprice or Chrysler 300C or drive for an existing partner operator who owns a fleet of vehicles.

Conditions of offer
- Only valid for UberBLACK in Adelaide.
- Valid if you signup and begin working on the Uber system prior to March 31st 2015.
- $6000 means gross fares.
- Work 50 hours a week and peak periods in the Adelaide core areas. Generally speaking they relate to morning and evening peak hours during the working week as well as extended periods of high demand on Friday evening and most of Saturday.
- Accept a minimum 85% of trip requests provided to you by Uber .
- Valid when a new driver signs up to Uber in conjunction with a new car added to the Uber system. The car can either be provided by the driver or an Uber partner operator.
Extra incentive
An additional $1000 incentive will be offered after the completion of 100 trips for UberBLACK drivers who join Uber and bring a new car to the Uber system!

HOW ARE RIDERS CHARGED?
Ride costs are calculated automatically and we charge the rider’s credit card for you. There’s no need to carry cash. You’ll receive your funds every week via direct deposit.
HOW TO MAXIMISE YOUR FARES!
The graphic below shows the peak hours for the Uber network. To maximise your fares on the system, drive in these hours. Generally speaking they relate to morning and evening peak hours during the working week as well as extended periods of high demand on Friday evening, most of Saturday and even Sunday!
Uber is a service that can be used Adelaide-wide. However, since requests are matched to drivers based on proximity, our best partners make sure they spend most of their time in the Core Service Area – the most consistent area for rider requests (highlighted blue in the map below). If you’re driving in from other areas, simply GO ONLINE once you leave home and make your way in – hopefully you’ll get a request on your way!
