Dubai, your uberX is arriving now

We’re excited to announce the arrival of a more affordable way to get around Dubai: uberX.

uberX hits the roads today, April 17th, as a pilot project in partnership with the RTA, and part of our commitment to introduce an affordable solution to help our riders get around. During the pilot, only a select number of riders will have access to request uberX.

Here‘s everything you need to know about riding uberX in Dubai:

In the first phase, we will invite selected existing Uber partner drivers to join the uberX pilot, so you are likely to be picked up in a Toyota Previa, Toyota Prado or even a Lexus sedan. Upon the success of this pilot, we aim to roll out a more affordable selection of vehicles in order to sustain low fares for everyday riders, while reducing operating costs for partner drivers.

*Expect ETAs to be slightly higher as we get more cars on the road in the coming weeks. Please note that promotions are not applicable on uberX rides.
