At Uber, we put the safety and security of our entire community first. While many of our rider safety features are well-known, we’ve put together a quick list of some of the Uber app features we put in place to make sure you’re driving safely in Dubai.
Driving hours limit
One of our most important features is the driving hours limit. In fact, it has the biggest influence on accident rates on the road. To help prevent fatigue and loss of concentration, our policy is that no driver should be driving for more than 12 hours. Cumulative driving time includes any time you’re online and moving, when you’re en route to a pick-up and when you’re on a trip. After 12 hours, all our partner-drivers are required to take a 6-hour consecutive break to make sure they’re properly rested and refreshed before accepting any new rides.
In-app assistance
All our partner-drivers have quick and easy access to our support team, including a 24-hour helpline for any urgent matters you might encounter. Whether you have a problem with passenger behavior and need to report an incident or you just need advice on your profile or using the app, you can get in touch with our team directly through the app. Just go to the Help section and, along with articles on many of our frequently-asked questions, you’ll see an option to contact the team. You can also get help by going to the Uber partners website.
GPS tracking and share my trip
We understand how important it is for our partner-drivers and their families and friends to have peace of mind, so we use state-of-the-art GPS tracking to make sure that there’s always a record of your trip and your route. You can also use the ‘Share My Trip’ option, similar to the riders’ ‘Send Status’ option, so that your loved ones know where you are at all times. You can pre-set the contacts you’d like to share your journey with so that it only takes a second to let them know when you’re on a new trip.
Community ratings
We want our entire community to feel safe and secure, which is why we use a two-way ratings system for both partner-drivers and riders. Before you pick up a passenger, you’ll be able to see their rating, which is made up by averaging the scores given by previous partner-drivers. At the end of the trip, you can add a score of your own. Any rating you leave is entirely anonymous, and the rider will also have the opportunity to leave you a rating, which gets factored into your overall rating.
Make the most of our in-app support and help us promote safe driving in Dubai!
