A man-made island where you’d least expect to find it, a Palm Jumeirah visit is an absolute must-do on your trip to Dubai. Finished in 2006, it remains one of the world’s most impressive examples of architecture and innovation–and it’s even visible from space! We’ve put together a guide for a fun family day of exploring the Palm.
Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis
Dubbed “The Best Water Park in Dubai,” Aquaventure is the proud winner of a Time Out Kids’ Award as well as a World Travel Award – and it’s not hard to see why. There’s something for everyone, from the nine-foot-tall mega water slide, The Leap of Faith, for the daredevils, to the 700 meters of private beach for parents who want some relaxation time. It’s part of the spectacular Atlantis The Palm Hotel, which makes it an easy visit for guests and a short Uber ride away for everyone else.
The Lost Chambers at Atlantis
While you’re at the Atlantis, make sure to pay a visit to The Lost Chambers. An aquatic adventure of a different kind, this impressive aquarium is home to some of the island’s most interesting wildlife. Dive into the lost city of Atlantis with an enchanting display of over 65,000 marine animals, interactive theatre shows, and the opportunity to take part in activities such as snorkeling, animal encounters and even yoga sessions. You can take a guided tour of the aquarium or enjoy it at your leisure.
Skydive Dubai
If you want proof that Palm Jumeirah really is shaped like a palm tree, you can get it with a full aerial view courtesy of Skydive Dubai. An activity center for adrenaline lovers, Skydive Dubai specializes in aerial sports and has even set a number of Guinness World Records. However, if you prefer to keep all limbs firmly inside the vehicle, you can also take a private gyrocopter flight, where you’ll get all the scenery with less of the fright.
Club Vista Mare
After a busy day of diving and daring, relax, unwind and enjoy the view from Club Vista Mare. This seafront strip has earned its reputation as one of the city’s most vibrant nightlife spots. It’s made up of seven high-end bars and restaurants, with outdoor seating that lines the beach and offers beautiful views of the sea as well as the cityscape. Finish your day with fine-dining Peruvian food, Italian favorites or classic Emirati cuisine, and top it off by fine-riding home in an UberBLACK.
If you’re ready to start exploring and are wondering how to get to Palm Jumeirah, don’t worry–it’s just a 20-minute drive away from the central Mall of the Emirates, and you can even use our fare estimator to work out just how much you can expect your journey to cost.
