Which car is right for you? Make sure it meets Uber car requirements in your city and remember that you’ll make more money if you keep your costs low.
Your vehicle must-haves
- Model up to 10 years old (e.g. in 2018 models from 2009 onwards are accepted)
- 4 doors, trunk and in good condition
- Marchamao up to date
- Riteve up to date
Can be with private-commercial (INS) or commercial coverage (other insurers).

UberX
Most newer 4-door sedans qualify to drive with UberX, the most popular vehicle option for riders.
Additional Requirements
- Maximum 10-year-old model (e.g., in 2018, models from 2009 onwards are accepted)
- 4 doors and in good condition
- Capacity for 5 passengers (including the driver)
- Working windows and air conditioning
- Attached, you can see the list of the most popular models, but other models may also qualify.
UberXL
Seat extra passengers—and get higher fares—with your high-capacity vehicle. They must seat at least 6 riders in addition to the driver.
Additional Requirements
- Maximum 10-year-old model (e.g., in 2018, models from 2009 onwards are accepted)
- With 4 doors and a trunk
- Capacity for 7 passengers
- Air conditioning
Comfort
Comfort is an option in the Uber app for all users who want to request rides with the best-rated driver-partners, in newer and more spacious vehicles, for a higher fare than UberX.
Vehicle Requirements
- Sedan or larger car, 4 doors
- Maximum of 5 years old
- Functional radio and AC
- ABS brakes and Airbags
- Capacity for 5 passengers (including the driver)
Driver-Partner Requirements
- User rating of 4.8 or higher
- A minimum of 300 completed trips through the Uber app
The vehicle and driver-partner requirements to receive rides from the Uber Comfort option in the Uber app may change at any time at Uber's discretion.
