Our approach to COVID-19
The safety and well-being of everyone who uses Uber is at the heart of what we do. We're continuing to expand our response to COVID-19 with new features for our users, support for those who earn on our platform, and partnerships and initiatives that serve our cities.
Recommendations to stay healthy
All Uber users are reminded to follow the advice of public health authorities. If you are ill, stay at home and avoid contact with others. Wash your hands regularly, cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
Steps we are taking
Supporting public health authorities
We have a team available 24/7 to support public health authorities in their response to the epidemic. We’re also consulting with an epidemiologist to make sure our efforts as a company are grounded in medical advice.
Distribution of masks
We are making a first distribution of masks from May 4, 2020 to drivers and delivery men. Other distribution waves are planned as soon as we receive orders.
Helping to keep cars and delivery material clean
We endeavoured to distribute disinfectant products to drivers, especially in the most affected areas. We reimbursed the expenses incurred for the purchase of sanitary products up to 25€/month.
Helping drivers to purchase and install a partition wall
We have set up a partnership with the Fixico company, which offers a discount on the purchase and/or installation of polycarbonate partition walls.
Security checklist
We have put in place a Security Checklist to ensure that every driver, delivery person and passenger confirms that they have taken the necessary security measures.
Giving you options for food delivery
We understand that you may be relying more on food delivery right now. If you prefer, you can leave a note in the Uber Eats app to ask your delivery person to leave your food at the door.

“Leave at Door” Delivery
Uber Eats users can use delivery instructions to indicate how they wish to be delivered. They can add instructions such as "leave the order at the door" or "ring the bell and leave the order in the hall". Once at the delivery location, you can view these instructions in the application under Customer Instructions.
