Workplace Operations Manager
About the Role
The Workplace Operations Manager (WOM) is a key member of the Global Operations function, playing an integral role in our strategic facility and regional service delivery for Uber. As a WOM, you will assist the Regional Workplace Lead in the operation and management of Uber facilities within your designated area. You will also serve a crucial integration role among the internal Places team and business stakeholders to ensure projects/activities are carried out in accordance with schedules and budgets as part of the end-to-end process.
Reporting to the Regional Workplace Lead, you will ensure local business priorities are met whilst ensuring high-quality employee experiences. This role will be a trusted advisor to the business and will leverage strategic partners and internal teams to provide the best environment to attract and retain talent, inspire collaboration & innovation, and foster pride in the Uber brand whilst balancing cost.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at a site/country level. Work with the Business Partner to anticipate the business needs, provide insights, obtain local business strategy, and work with the Regional Workplace Lead and wider Places team so that the right decisions and solutions are made at the right time
- Work with the Business Partner, Global Strategy & Planning (GSP&T) Portfolio Planner and Design & Construction (D&C) Program Manager, Places Communication and drive collaboration under #oneuber to ensure strategies, projects and budgets are delivered to the requirements of the stakeholders
- Ensure the portfolio of properties within your designated responsibility continues to provide a great experience for employees and visitors
- Manage and execute local and regional activities and initiatives based on Regional Workplace Lead direction
- Assist in the rollout of new global projects, programs and initiatives impacting the designated area of responsibility
- Own the administration of E2E operational remodel process by leveraging the outsourced service provider
- Manage the overall delivery of services in the designated area by coordinating with different internal teams outside the Places Organisation (IT, AV, Security, legal, finance, etc), and third party providers (OP, Strategy & Planning, EHS, Facilities Management, Project Management, F&B, Events, Host, Transportation, etc)
- Own the operational relationship at a site/country local level with the outsourced service provider and other third party vendors, manage performance and issue resolution
- Leverage partners to bring new innovations, products and ways of working that will improve the workplace, productivity, processes along with bringing greater cost efficiency.
- Leverage AI tools to bring efficiency and productivity gains
- Bring a #OneUber approach by fostering and leveraging relationships with peers across the regions to innovate and develop best practices globally.
- Maintain a Global First approach whilst balancing regional and local operational nuances
- Be an advocate for Safety and Sustainability
- Drive financial rigor and operational stewardship to help bring cost efficiencies while balancing employee experience
- Be accountable for compliance as well as the workplace opex annual budget within the designated area of responsibility
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Facilities Management, or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in workplace or facilities management.
- Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Over 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a large-scale corporate environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written, with an ability to create presentations for executive decision-making.
- Fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese
- Strong knowledge of workplace service standards and regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with workplace services and office management best practices.
- Proficiency in using workplace management software tools.
- Experience in managing outsourced service providers.
- Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced tech environment.
