Assistant Operations Manager - Strategic Growth Pillars

About the Role

Uber Sri Lanka is looking for a data-driven, commercially-minded leader to join our Mobility operations team. In this role, you will lead the charge on identifying and scaling "Strategic Growth Pillars". You will blend deep analytical rigor with creative marketing and negotiation skills to forge partnerships that strengthen our ecosystem.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee Strategic Growth Pillars & Portfolio Expansion: Support the commercial success of the Strategic Growth Pillars, and drive the launch and scaling of new product innovations and specialized service categories in Sri Lanka, tailoring global strategies to fit local business and customer needs.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify, negotiate, and manage potential partnerships for Mobility in Sri Lanka to drive user acquisition and brand affinity.
  • Creative Storytelling: Develop compelling narratives that explain "the why" behind our products. Work closely with the Regional Marketing and Communications teams to design and execute integrated digital and Below-The-Line (BTL) marketing campaigns.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze new market opportunities and macroeconomic trends to recommend where and how Uber should expand its footprint.
  • Marketplace Optimization: Partner with regional teams to ensure that new growth pillars are supported by an optimized balance of supply and demand.
  • Data-Driven Growth: Constantly monitor performance metrics, looking for ways to tweak and optimize the portfolio for better results and sustainable growth.

What You Will Need

  • Experience: 5 years of experience in e-commerce, business management, operations, marketing, or tech start-ups. Specific experience in launching digital products and marketing campaigns is highly preferred.
  • Education: University degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Economics, Engineering, Marketing, or Business).
  • Analytical Power: A passion for working with data and numbers. You must be proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and capable of turning complex data into actionable growth insights.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and negotiate effectively with external partners.
  • Execution Mindset: A solution-oriented approach with the ability to break down complex market problems into structured workstreams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools.
  • Fluency in Sinhalese and/or Tamil.
  • Experience building high-impact communication materials for executive leadership.
