About the Role

Uber Direct is our Delivery-as-a-Service product, enabling restaurants, grocers, and retailers to offer last-mile delivery to their customers through their own app or website by leveraging Uber’s delivery network.

We are looking for a proactive, strategic, and data-driven Operations Manager to support the growth and scalability of the business. In this role, you will work across a wide range of operational and strategic initiatives, helping improve processes, enhance merchant and courier experience, and drive operational excellence.

What the Candidate Will Do

As a Uber Direct Ops Manager, be a strategic partner to the Uber Direct team

Drive operational improvements

  • Identify inefficiencies across processes and design scalable solutions to improve performance
  • Optimize workflows to reduce manual effort and increase operational reliability

Leverage data to inform decisions

  • Analyze operational metrics to uncover trends and opportunities
  • Translate insights into actionable initiatives that improve business outcomes

Partner cross-functionally

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams to improve processes and tools
  • Support the rollout of new features and initiatives by ensuring operational readiness

Execute strategic initiatives

  • Lead or support projects that enhance the overall performance of the business
  • Bring structure to ambiguous problems and drive execution from idea to implementation

Improve stakeholder experience

  • Contribute to initiatives that enhance the experience for merchants, couriers, and internal teams
  • Identify pain points and help design solutions that improve satisfaction and efficiency

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in strategy, operations, or business consulting in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional stakeholder management skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive process or tooling improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of merchant experience and ability to improve workflows in ways that reduce friction and increase trust.
  • Self-starter mindset with a strong desire to learn, grow, and take ownership in ambiguous environments.
