Application Analyst II - Work Management

About the Role

The Work Management team at Uber is responsible for enabling how teams plan, track, and deliver work at scale through enterprise platforms such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and Asana. As an Application Analyst, you will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, translating complex business needs into scalable, high-impact solutions on the Atlassian Cloud platform.

In this role, you will lead multiple digitization and process-transformation initiatives across engineering, business, and operational teams. You will leverage core Atlassian capabilities, including automation and AI-enabled features such as Atlassian Rovo, to improve efficiency, adoption, and user experience. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, exceptional stakeholder management, and a passion for delivering well-designed, user-centric systems.

--- What the Candidate Will Do ----

  1. Analyze, define, and document business requirements and workflows to ensure high-quality, impactful solution design and implementation.
  2. Lead AI-enabled initiatives across the Atlassian Cloud portfolio, establishing clear success metrics and ensuring delivery on time and within scope.
  3. Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications and collaborate closely with Jira developers, administrators, and technical leads.
  4. Apply analytics and metrics to track platform and project performance, identify optimization opportunities, and drive continuous improvement in user satisfaction and adoption.
  5. Provide expert guidance, mentorship, and customer-centric support to stakeholders, promoting best practices and improving engagement across teams.
  6. Test Jira projects, workflows, and automations to validate requirements, identify gaps, and implement enhancements that improve productivity.
  7. Proactively identify and resolve issues related to Jira and Confluence configurations, minimizing disruption and improving overall platform reliability and user experience.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  1. 5+ years of experience working in the Atlassian ecosystem as an Application Analyst or Business Analyst, with hands-on experience driving digitization of complex business processes, preferably in Atlassian Cloud.
  2. Working knowledge of Atlassian Rovo and Atlassian Automation, with experience applying AI-enabled capabilities to optimize workflows and processes.
  3. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead discussions, manage expectations, and balance business requirements with security, scalability, and user experience.
  4. Proven ability to deliver demos, training sessions, and consultations on Atlassian capabilities and project or program management best practices.
  5. Proficiency in system design, configuration, and integration across the Atlassian portfolio, with a track record of delivering scalable, user-focused solutions.
  6. Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
  7. Strong analytical and decision-making skills, using data and metrics to prioritize work, mitigate risk, and demonstrate measurable business impact.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse teams toward shared outcomes.
  9. Demonstrated ability to use AI-assisted tools (e.g., GenAI, workflow automation, analytics assistants) to accelerate program planning, requirements definition, risk analysis, documentation, and stakeholder communication in a production environment.

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

  1. Hands-on administration experience managing Jira projects and Confluence spaces in Atlassian Cloud or Atlassian Data Center.
  2. Experience supporting large-scale Atlassian deployments with 20,000+ users.
  3. Development experience using Groovy, including writing ScriptRunner scripts to implement custom business logic and automation.
  4. Advanced working knowledge of Atlassian Rovo, including creating and managing Rovo agents.
  5. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
