Software Engineer II, U4B Employee Mobility
About the Role
Build and maintain backend services and solutions to support user-facing products, downstream services in Uber App focused on business products. Collaborate with stakeholders within the team and across orgs for feature development.

U4B Employee Mobility engineering team has the vision to build a differentiated and reliable travel experience for business users.
- The business travel intent has to get captured from the user, in turn propagated to all the applicable engineering services in Uber for seamless experience. Engineers in this team by definition would work across multiple cross functional teams in Uber spanning different verticals.
- The team builds core employee mobility features and flagship Premium business Products (such as Business Comfort) in Uber App.
- U4B Membership team provides differentiated services and benefits through Uber One membership accounts exclusive for business users.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Build and sustain large scale distributed systems using Golang and Java.
- Participate in periodic oncall rotation to keep up the system reliability by working with team members.
- Collaborate with mobile, web and backend engineers across the team and cross organization to work across multiple microservices for feature development.
- Work closely with cross functional team members such as Product and ProdOps for feature launches.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 3-year full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 3-year total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go)
- Note the 3-year total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these). The year of specialized experience is not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated.
- Advanced English language skills are also important since this team will be working with other engineers and stakeholders from different regions around the world

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year.
For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$171,000 per year - USD$190,000 per year.
