About the Role

As an Application Engineer on the Sales Automation Engineering team, you will design and deliver mission-critical features across our CRM technology stack. This role is at the heart of our B2B strategy, where you will build seamless integrations between internal systems and external platforms to drive high-impact business outcomes.

By enhancing our CRM ecosystem—specifically Salesforce—you will empower our Sales and Support teams to excel at customer acquisition, onboarding, and expansion. Your work will have a direct, measurable impact on Uber’s global revenue and user growth.


What You’ll Do

  • Architect & Build: Develop and optimize Salesforce-related functionalities tailored for global B2B teams.

  • Integrate Systems: Build and configure high-performance APIs connecting internal infrastructure with 3rd-party cloud solutions.

  • Deliver Excellence: Design, implement, and ship reliable, well-tested features that prioritize a seamless user experience.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Architects, Product Owners, and TPMs to translate complex requirements into consolidated execution plans.

  • Scalability & Resilience: Ensure all system designs and dependencies result in scalable solutions that minimize support overhead.

  • Own the Lifecycle: Participate in Agile ceremonies, support QA during rollouts, and maintain high-quality documentation for design and operations.


Basic Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Engineering Foundation: 5+ years of professional software development experience with a solid grasp of OOP principles.

  • Salesforce Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development, including deep knowledge of Apex, Lightning, and SOQL/SOSL.

  • Tech Versatility: Experience in at least one backend language (e.g., Java, Go, Python, or C#) and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.

  • API Mastery: Practical experience with SOAP, REST, and Bulk APIs, including design and management.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to articulate technical strategy to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: Salesforce Platform App Builder or Platform Developer I/II.

  • Modern DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.

  • SaaS Savvy: Deep experience with cloud-based integrations and SaaS architecture.

  • Problem Solver: A passion for tackling complex business challenges through innovative, technology-driven solutions.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$153,000 per year - USD$170,000 per year.

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan.
