Account Executive - Groceries & Retail
About the Role
By joining the Uber Eats Grocery and Retail team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of commerce across Portugal. As an Account Executive, you will be the face of Uber Eats to our most significant local retailers, securing high-impact partnerships that expand our marketplace.
We are looking for a customer-obsessed, resilient self-starter who can engage with senior stakeholders and leverage multiple levers—financial, strategic, and operational—to build compelling value propositions. You won't just be closing deals; you’ll be acting as a strategic growth partner to Portugal’s most iconic brands.
What you'll do
- Full-Cycle Sales Ownership: Lead the entire sales process from initial prospecting and product demonstrations to complex negotiations and closing.
- Strategic Pitching: Clearly communicate the Uber Eats value proposition, highlighting our products and initiatives to secure long-term, high-potential partnerships.
- Onboarding & Integration: Supervise the integration process and accompany new partners through their first month on the platform to ensure a seamless "first order" experience.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to craft winning proposals and ensure a successful launch for new merchants.
- CRM Management: Maintain meticulous records of sales activities, client interactions, and deal progress within our CRM systems.
What you'll need
At least 3 years of professional experience in a sales, business development, or commercial role, preferably within the retail sector.
A go-getter attitude with a strong sense of ownership and resilience.
Negotiation skills: Being persuasive, social, and capable of proposing comprehensive solutions for different types of clients.
Commercial Domain: Ability to detect business opportunities and convert them into tangible results, maintaining lasting relationships with clients.
Analytical Mindset: Analytical capacity to manage and resolve complex negotiations with a strategic and results-oriented approach.
Seniority: Being autonomous in making commercial decisions, results-oriented, proactive, and highly motivated to achieve your goals.
Team Spirit: You enjoy working in an agile and collaborative environment. Being a colleague who brings positive energy and contributes to a great culture.
A proven track record of delivering sales targets and successfully managing complex sales cycles.
Excellent communication skills and a high level of commitment.
Native level of Portuguese and fluent English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with CRM tools like Salesforce for pipeline management and reporting
- Confident collaborating directly with managers of major businesses and ability to build strong working relationships with external partners.
- Ability to define plans, processes and tools with a creative and constructive mindset, as well as minimal supervision, with detailed execution for large-scale projects (eg. launching new products / categories, onboarding retail partners) and then deliver them to plan regardless of any surprises or ambiguity along the way.
