Our team is responsible for the platforms that power the next generation of Financial Products designed to help our customers achieve their life goals. These products play a vital role in the customer journey, and we focus on building engaging experiences by tackling complex technical challenges unique to Uber’s ecosystem.

As a Senior Engineer, you'll contribute high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code that serves as a foundation for teams across Uber. You'll work closely with cross-functional partners to anticipate their needs and shape the platform capabilities required to support the launch of innovative and impactful financial products.

1. Lead the design, development, and deployment of new financial products, features, and platforms that provide these features to Uber Riders, Drivers and Merchants.
2. Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions that align with financial products strategy.
3. Build robust, scalable, and efficient systems that handle real-time user data,
4. Develop systems and software to bring outstanding solutions to scalable systems at global Uber
5. Mentor and guide junior engineers on technical designs, coding best practices, and architecture.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2. Proven experience in software development, with a strong understanding of programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, or C++.
3. 5+ years of strong experience with backend development and microservices architecture.
4. Experience with data analytics and experimental design in an engineering context.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
6. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

1. Highly efficient coding in Golang, Java or any similar languages.
2. 6+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer.
3. Comfortable dealing with system complexity
4. Strong background in data analytics tools such as Hive, or similar.
5. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks.
6. Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
7. Proven experience of shipping high-quality product features on schedule and with high velocity
8. Great sense of ownership
9. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
10. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate complex ideas to various stakeholders.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.
