With EV mandates on the books in numerous Canadian cities, we’re welcoming more EV drivers to the Uber platform. We are now offering a $5,000 incentive for 1,000 Diamond drivers who begin driving an EV with Uber, for a limited time only.

How it works

Drive with Uber to earn points. Some trips may earn you more points than others. See more details in the Driver app.

Offer quality service to riders

In addition to earning points, you must maintain certain ratings to earn Gold, Platinum, and Diamond rewards. The requirements vary by region. Please check the Driver app for more information.

  • Your overall star rating is an average of individual ratings provided by riders from your past 500 trips.

    If you receive a rating of 4 stars or below on a trip for a reason that is out of your control, like a bad GPS route or traffic, the rating will be excluded from your overall rating. See more about ratings protection here.

     

  • If you’re a driver with Gold, Platinum, or Diamond status and your cancellation rate rises to between 5.01% and 10%, you won’t be able to reach a higher status by earning more points. You will maintain your current status and have access to your current rewards.

    If your cancellation rate rises above 10%, you will lose access to your Gold, Platinum, and Diamond rewards immediately. To earn back your rewards, your cancellation rate must return to 5% or below.

  • You earn points during fixed 3-month periods. At the start of a 3-month period, your status is determined by the points you earned in the previous 3-month period. At any time, you can move up statuses and unlock more rewards if you earn enough points for the next status and maintain high ratings.

  • Drivers who also deliver with Uber Eats will earn points for delivery trips. Note that rewards offering views of full trip duration aren’t available on Uber Eats trips.

    Delivery people who only deliver using the Uber Eats app aren’t eligible for Uber Pro. They may be eligible for Uber Eats Pro where the program is available. Learn more here.

To sign up to be eligible to participate in the offer, active rideshare drivers in Canada can complete the form linked above. The offer is limited to 1,000 participants in 2026. If more than the maximum number of participants signs up to participate, Uber Canada will select the eligible participants based on (i) meeting the eligibility criteria of Diamond tier Uber Pro loyalty status and never previously adding an owned EV to their profile, (ii) geographic distribution across the country, and (iii) number of trips completed in the last 90 days. Completion of the application form does not guarantee selection to participate in the offer. Spaces for this offer are limited, and Uber will directly notify drivers who are eligible to participate in the offer. If—after completing the application form—a driver receives notice confirming their eligibility to participate in the offer, then in order to receive the one-time incentive of CAD$5,000, the driver must (1) maintain Diamond status in the Uber Pro loyalty program until the trip and vehicle requirements are satisfied (see Uber Pro Terms and Conditions); (2) within 2 months of Uber sending the notice of eligibility, add to their Driver Account an EV with the Driver accountholder’s name stated on the vehicle registration, ownership and insurance documents; and (3) within 3 months of adding the EV, complete the required number of rideshare trips with Uber in their city using the EV. This offer applies only to completed rideshare trips with Uber. Trips in non-owned vehicles (such as rental vehicles) do not count. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles do not count. For this offer, the term “EV” includes fully battery electric vehicles (“BEV”) and fuel cell electric vehicles (“FCEV”); and “owned” includes personally leased vehicles. Cancelled trips do not count. Non-ridesharing trips such as trips with Courier and Uber Eats do not count. For pooled or shared rideshare trips, each leg of a trip that is separately booked will count as one trip towards your minimum trip requirement (e.g. if you pick up a rider using UberX Share, and then pick up another rider using UberX Share along the way, it will count as two trips for this promotion). Any payment due will be added to your account within 30 days of the eligibility period. No partial payments will be made. The offer is valid only for those who are directly notified by Uber that they are eligible to participate, and who complete all the requirements for the promotion. Uber reserves the right to withhold or deduct payments that we determine or believe were fraudulent, illegal, in error, or in violation of these terms or your agreement(s) with Uber.
