MEET SOME OF THE PEOPLE WORKING FOR UBER IN DC:
Meet Rachel Holt:
- Education: Amherst College, BA (2005), Stanford GSB, MBA (2010)
- Work History: Bain and Company, Associate Consultant and Senior Associate Consultant // MLB Advanced Media, Manager New Media (6-month externship from Bain) // Clorox, Associate Marketing Manager
- Currently: East Coast Regional General Manager, formerly DC GM
- Favorite Project: Launching DC – we started with a team of three, with no partners and only a handful of riders in the city who even knew what Uber was. Really quickly we were able to develop a real and fast growing business. It was amazing to build something from scratch and watch Uber spread through the city like wildfire.
- Fun Fact: I’ve taken nearly 1000 Uber rides over the past 3 years!
Meet Erik Weber:
- Education: Transylvania University, BA in Math & Political Science (2007), Morehead State University, Masters in Public Admin (2009)
- Work History: Program Analyst, Federal Transit Administration // Visiting Fellow in Marketing & Planning, Transit Authority of River City (TARC)
- Currently: Senior Operations Manager DC, formerly Driver Operations Manager DC
- Favorite Project: Analyzing a month’s worth of data to determine most common trip starting and ending points and using that data to build a city knowledge guide module for new partners.
- Fun Fact: I’m one of three German speakers in the Uber DC office.
Meet Amber Rinehard:
- Education: Syracuse University, BS (2009)
- Work History: Global Community Manager, Text100 Public Relations // Account Executive & Digital Strategist, Text100 Public Relations
- Currently: Senior Community Operations Manager DC, formerly Community Manager DC
- Favorite Project: There are so many of them that it’s hard to choose just one! One of the most fun things I participated in was walking in the Capital Pride parade in DC with some of our team. We wore rainbow tutus and threw neon Uber tanks out to the crowd. People were going nuts – we felt like rockstars!
- Fun Fact: I held a LOT of odd jobs in order to pay my way through college – bagging groceries, making waffles in the dining hall, managing an ice cream stand, selling t-shirts at the New York State Fair, running a local farmer’s market, and even doing marketing for an online target shooting game. It’s safe to say I’ve never been afraid to work hard or get my hands dirty – and that’s proven to be quite useful here at Uber!
Meet Spencer Fertig:
- Education: Georgetown University, BA (2011)
- Work History: Equity Capital Markets Analyst, Morgan Stanley
- Currently: Driver Operations Manager DC
- Favorite Project: Revamping East Coast uberX onboarding process to double weekly onboardings with less than half the prior resources.
- Fun Fact: I’ve been to over 15 Bruce Springsteen concerts.
