We’re excited to announce that as of today, November 15, Uber is available across the entire state.
We’ve been working to provide affordable, safe, and reliable transportation to everyone, and now Uber will be available in more North Carolina cities than ever. Riders across the state will be able to open their Uber app and request an uberX or uberXL ride, and drivers will be able to log on and accept trip requests.
Have friends and family in these new service areas who’ve never used Uber? Share your referral code to give them a free first ride. Plus, after they take their first ride, you’ll get $10 off your next ride. Win-win!
How it works:
- Open the Uber app.
- Tap the menu button in the upper-left corner, then tap Free Rides.
- Tap Send Invites and add as many friends as you’d like to share with, then tap Invite Friends. Send the pre-prepared SMS message.
- Once your friend taps on the URL in the SMS, the promo will be applied to their account.
- After your friend takes his or her first trip, $10 will be added to your account for your next ride.
NOTE: In new service areas, riders and drivers are learning about Uber, so wait times may be longer than usual.
