Shopify and Uber Team Up to Help Small-Businesses Grow with On-Demand Delivery
October 20, 2015 / New York CityLast Wednesday, we launched the UberRUSH business platform, bringing thousands of small businesses in NYC the opportunity to plug into on-demand delivery. That same day, KITH, a popular menswear retailer and Shopify merchant, sold a select number of limited edition sneaker exclusively via UberRUSH. They sold out within minutes.
Following our launch, we teamed up with our platform partner Shopify, a leading commerce platform for small and medium sized businesses, to host a roundtable discussion on the common pain-points retailers face around delivery. Guests included current UberRUSH merchants KITH, Sam and Lex, and other top sellers in the Shopify community.
Jason Normore, Shopify Director of Engineering, discussed the ways in which Shopify aims to improve the shipping process for their community of 175,000+ merchants.
In NYC, 1 in 8 orders Shopify orders are purchased by shoppers within 20 miles of a merchant, making UberRUSH an convenient and affordable same-day delivery option for many local customers across the city.
“With UberRush, customers unable to make the trip into our store will now have the opportunity to have that product in their hands, almost immediately,”
– Ronnie Fieg, Owner of KITH
Whether they’re delivering fashion, art or beauty–when businesses save customers the trip, everyone wins.
If you run a business or know someone who does, see how UberRUSH can help it grow. Shopify merchants interested in plugging into UberRUSH can learn more here.
