Los Angeles is expected to be busier than normal over the next week, so here are some ways to help ensure a 5-Star experience, including details on how to get picked up at the Super Bowl and other big events across the city.

Gameday at SoFi Stadium

Know before you go

  • Wait times: It is anticipated that thousands of fans will be looking for rides from the stadium during the Super Bowl, so you should expect higher than normal wait times after the game.
  • Increased fares: There will be an additional $20 event surcharge for pickups and $10 event surcharge for dropoffs in the vicinity of SoFi Stadium on the day of the Super Bowl. These surcharges are included in the upfront price you see before you request. 100% of this money goes to your driver.
  • Multiple ways to ride: Whether you’re looking for shorter wait times or more legroom, consider all ride options when leaving the stadium. Also, the NFL will be offering fan shuttles to different sites across the city, so riders can purchase shuttle passes and get dropped off at those locations away from stadium traffic, where they can then request a ride with Uber to their end destination.

Pickups at the Super Bowl

  • Designated pickup and dropoff zones have been set up around the stadium
  • Look for signs around the property and instructions in the Uber app for directions.
  • It’s recommended to contact your driver to confirm your location at the pickup zone.
  • Dropoffs at the Super Bowl

    • Just enter “Sofi Stadium” in the Uber app and you’ll be routed to the designated rideshare zone.
    • As a reminder, for your safety and to avoid traffic citations from local law enforcement, it’s advised to wait until the driver reaches the designated dropoff point before exiting the vehicle.

    Pro tips:

    • Avoid the rush: Departing before the final whistle may help you to beat the surge of fans looking for riders when the game ends.
    • Look for directions: Look for in-app wayfinding instructions and special event signage around the stadium to help guide you to designated rideshare zones.
    • Chat in-app: It’s easy to connect with your driver to confirm the pickup location—just send a message in the Uber app.
    • Stand out in a crowd: With Spotlight, you can light up your phone with a special color specific to your driver.

    Safety reminders:

    • Check your ride, every time: It’s always recommended to confirm these key details that uniquely identify your ride before you board: the vehicle make and model, the driver’s name and photo, and the license plate. If the information doesn’t match up, do not get into the car. Go to a safe place and wait for the right car to arrive, or cancel the ride and report it to us. In an emergency or if you feel threatened, contact law enforcement immediately by dialing 911.
    • PIN verification: As an optional extra layer of protection, Uber’s PIN verification feature can help to ensure you’re getting into the right vehicle with the right driver. When opted in, you’ll receive a unique 4-digit PIN whenever you request a ride. Before entering your driver’s vehicle, tell them your PIN; if they are the driver the app matched you with, they’ll be able to start the trip after they enter your PIN into their app.
    • Know the area: Event organizers and local law enforcement recommend that fans request rides from one of the two designated rideshare zones and avoid attempting to do so from other properties or neighborhoods around the stadium.
    • Share Your Trip: As a rider, you can share your location and trip status with friends and family, all right from the app.
    • Emergency button: This feature allows riders in distress while on a trip to share their vehicle and GPS information with 911 at the touch of a button.

The Super Bowl Experience at the Los Angeles Convention Center

    • The event’s organizers suggest that attendees exit the Convention Center and request rides from points near Figueroa St or toward Flower St.
    • Look for in-app wayfinding instructions and special event signage around the property to help guide you to designated rideshare zones.
    • There will be road closures on Chick Hearn Ct, Gilbert Lindsay Dr, and Convention Center Dr.
    • Please note: There is a $10 surcharge for pickups around the Convention Center and Entertainment Complex from 9pm to 1am on Thursday, February 10, Friday, February 11, and Saturday, February 12. This surcharge is included in the upfront price you see before you request. 100% of this money goes to your driver.

NFL Honors at the YouTube Theater

    • The event’s organizers have a designated pickup and dropoff zone on the south side of the property in Lot P.
    • For dropoff, just type “YouTube Theater” into the Uber app.

Plan to ride with Uber at other events

    • With festivities taking place all over the city, it’s expected that many properties will have special zones for pickups–look for directions in the Uber app when requesting to find recommended locations to meet your driver.

REMINDER: Getting to the airport after the weekend

    • Please allow extra time when requesting a ride to the airport after the weekend, in particular, Monday, February 14, due to expected increases in traffic and longer lines at TSA screening.
    • It’s recommended to request your ride to the airport at least four hours prior to your flight’s departure time.
