Two years ago, Uber launched in Des Moines. Since then, we’ve expanded to five different cities in Iowa, and our driver partners have complete over 1-million trips. To celebrate this milestone, we met with many of our top-partners in Des Moines. Thanks a million to all the driver partners that helped us get to a million trips in Iowa!

Richard came to the Uber 1 Million Trips partner event, after dropping off his 5,000th trip!
“I am a proud grandpa of 11 grandkids,” says Richard. “I drive for Uber because of the convenience of working when I want to. I’m a retired Des Moines city bus driver. I am now on a fixed income. I enjoy the extra money to use for extra things such as traveling.”
“The customers in the Des Moines area are great and really like our quick, reliable, safe and affordable service. I can’t believe I’ve done over 5,000 rides in less than two years. It is fun working all the events going on in Des Moines. You meet lots of interesting people!”
Name: Alan K.
Partner Since: March 2015
Alan has taken over 2,500 trips in Des Moines. He drives with Uber in order to travel the globe. The extra income and flexibility with Uber makes that possible.
“I started driving Uber a little over a year and a half ago as a way to build up my savings in order to travel the world,” said Alan. “This year we have been to Vietnam, NYC, and have a trip to Maui coming up in September and another trip to south east Asia in January. Uber on around the world!”
