Welcome uberX To the Ohana

uberX has made its way to Honolulu! uberX is the low cost Uber – better, faster and ONcheaper than a taxi. You’ll be getting rides from local folks using their own cars. They’re everyday people leveraging our technology and their free time to provide you with safe and reliable rides all while earning extra income. It’s a win-win for everyone involved!

To kick off the launch of uberX here, we’re offering up free rides for everyone on Oahu! Starting June 12th all the way to June 25th, you’ll get to tap that app for FREE! 5 rides will be on the house up to $50 each.

Zak Noyle was late for a photo shoot and needed a ride, fast. Zak opened up his UBER app, toggled over to uberX, and within minutes Frederic arrived in a Prius and they were off! Congrats to Zak for being the first uberX rider in Honolulu and kicking off the celebration. couldn’t be more honored to have the Punahou grad help us kick off this celebration!

We’ve had many big names be our Rider Zero in other cities, such as Ed Norton, Tony Hawk and Oahu’s own Kala Alexander was Rider Zero when we launched back in August of 2013. Happy to have helped Zak get to his shoot with a safe and reliable ride from uberX.
