Uber’s mission is to connect everyone to safe, reliable rides that arrive within minutes at the tap of a button. We’re excited to move closer to that mission in Southern California with the addition of an important new product.
Wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAV) are now available throughout Southern California
UberWAV connects riders with paratransit drivers and curb-to-curb service in vehicles that are equipped with ramps or lifts. Riders requiring a WAV now have access to the same on-demand transportation technology that millions of Uber riders already love in over 200 cities and 45 countries worldwide.
Uber is excited to make a difference in many riders’ lives by providing a wheelchair-accessible option for safe, reliable, and on-demand travel.
HOW IT WORKS
- OPEN your Uber app
- SLIDE the button to the ‘ACCESS’ option at the bottom of the screen
- TAP the WAV button
- SET your location and request
- ENJOY your ride
Demand may be high, so thanks in advance for your patience as UberWAV gets up and running. Please note that ETAs for UberWAV may be higher than other Uber vehicle options.
