World Autism Awareness Day and Light It Up Blue

In 2007, the United Nations named April 2nd World Autism Awareness Day. To raise awareness of autism across the globe, Autism Speaks founded the Light It Up Blue campaign. Individuals, families, buildings, companies, governments and local autism organizations can participate in this campaign.

At Uber we’re showing our support by ‘Lighting It Up Blue’ in Uber cities across the globe. Open your Uber app Thursday April 2nd, to see how Uber Dubai is contributing to the cause and lighting it up blue!

Local Events and Organizations:

START is a non-profit organisation founded by Art Dubai and the Al Madad Foundation, running art workshops for refugees, orphans and children with special needs across the Middle East and India. Join the Uber Dubai team and volunteer at their workshop in Dubai for Autistic children. New Uber users heading to the event can get AED100 off their first trip there or back with promo code ‘StartDXB418’.

Join START and NYU Abu Dhabi to celebrate the achievements and creativity of students from the Future Center for Special Needs and the Abu Dhabi Center for Autism. The exhibition will display the works created by special needs children in START workshops from October 2014, and be held at NYU Abu Dhabi at 4pm on April 25th. New Uber riders can get there for free (up to AED100) using promo code ‘OpenWindowsAD’.

Dubai Autism Center | Volunteer

The Dubai Autism Center, founded in 2001, always has lots of volunteer opportunities for those interested. New Uber users heading to the Dubai Autism Center can ride there for free (up to AED100) using promo code DAC15.
