About the Role

 

Uber is a venture-funded startup headquartered in San Francisco. We are a global mobility and logistics technology platform: our flagship service allows users to request quality, on-demand rides with a touch of their smartphone and we are rapidly developing new products. We are present in over 690+ cities worldwide, including over 140+ cities in EMEA with plans to rapidly expand in the region. We have already found strong product market fit with a world changing service, but we’re only just getting started.

 

The role sits within EMEA Central Marketing, responsible for deeply understanding the impact of our marketing efforts to continue to drive the business forward. We’re looking for someone who is incredibly energized and motivated at the prospect of solving some of the most interesting and complex analytical challenges, and on a product that’s changing the world.

 

This is an intense business side startup role, and you will work with the Uber marketing teams along with headquarters-based engineering, product, and process teams. You will have direct impact on the growth of the Uber business in EMEA and how we deploy our marketing resources in the most effective way possible.

What You’ll Do

  • Analytics: get pumped up by deciphering huge data sets and cutting through irrelevant distractions to the heart of core data questions
  • Play a role in shaping the Marketing strategy and vision for the EMEA region
  • Conduct in-depth analysis on channel mix, be it acquisition or engagement channels, and drive intelligent budget allocation to maximize growth
  • Build, document and scale world-class decision-making tools and reports that will help optimize our marketing investments
  • Coordinate with other members of the Uber Team to design marketing experiments and measure their impact
  • Motivate and leverage existing and new staff to continually up-level their results, expectations, and stretch for increasingly higher levels of impact across the team’s KPIs
  • Work with local Operations, Product, Engineering and functional teams to build products and processes that will improve our analytics capabilities, and be the voice of EMEA for all analytics related matters

 

What You’ll Need

  • At least 8 years of experience in marketing analytics in a leading agency or tech/e-commerce businesses
  • Experience managing and motivating teams of analytical individuals to maximize impact on business KPIs while emphasizing on people development
  • Strong understanding of attribution modelling, ideally in app & web businesses
  • Experience managing multiple analytics projects that drove large marketing budgets allocations across offline & digital media
  • Extensive experience measuring media incrementality.
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Amazing with numbers and are able to instantly spot when something doesn’t look right
  • Stellar SQL & Excel capabilities

 

Bonus Points If...

  • You have experience with R/Python
  • You have good understanding of advertising technology and related measurement (eg. cookies, device ids, MMPs)
