About the Role

The Uber Freight business is expanding internationally for the first time. The freight industry in the European Union has a unique set of strategic and operational challenges. 

 

In the role of Account Executive, Carrier Operations, you will have a direct impact on the growth and optimization of the carrier population on Uber Freight’s platform in your market, building trust and relationships with local carriers while streamlining processes. This role calls for a rare combination of sales, relationship-building and operational prowess to own the relationship with a very valuable part of our business: our carriers.

 

You will surface frontline and impactful issues, working directly with the Country Manager, Carrier Operations, and closely with our Account, Central and Expansion teams to deliver on carrier growth and experience. This role is ultimately responsible for making sure we have carriers and liquidity in the marketplace, and driving growth to the business through traditional, app and tech utilization.

 

You will be helping launch Uber Freight in a new market. Join on the ground floor and help us build the future of freight internationally! 

What You’ll Do

  • Sales and relationship building. Become a customer-centric account executive to build long-lasting relationships with Carriers/ fleets and champion new product/ features/ processes in front of our Central operations teams. You will be responsible for growth and engagement of our carrier base in your market
  • Operational excellence. Use your industry experience paired with Uber-powered analytics to efficiently onboard Carriers in the market and book their first loads; you will be responsible for local carrier service quality metrics, margin, and capacity
  • Develop & Optimize Processes. Take big picture ideas and projects and break them into actionable steps with aggressive timelines for completion
  • Stakeholder Management. Manage business stakeholders to solve operational problems and build solutions. You will set and give guidance to Central Operations teams.
  • Product Improvement. Pro-actively search for bugs and help pilot new features which could improve a seamless carrier and shipper experience.Perseverance.
  • Take ownership of Uber Freight's growth, even when faced with obstacles along the way. 


What You'll Need

  • Minimum 3 years sales or operations experience in the Road freight industry working directly with Carriers
  • Strong communication, organization and negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail/ ability to document on-going projects or negotiations in digital tools such as Salesforce, etc.
  • Analytical and critical thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems under pressure
  • Ability to collaborate and work with a highly diverse set of shippers, transportation partners, and internal partners
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • The ability to balance attention to detail with swift execution - we need to do things quickly, and do them well 
  • Ability to fluently speak the local language
