About the Role

 

The Uber Freight business is growing rapidly, and is expanding internationally for the first time. The freight industry in the European Union has a unique set of strategic and operational challenges. It’s our vision at Uber Freight to transform the industry by creating an efficient, safe, and a high-quality experience for commercial shippers and carriers by matching freight loads through technology.

 

An Associate Manager is a creative solution builder, capable of managing a team and working across multiple customers and industry verticals to solve their complex and diverse supply chains. Leading a team of Account Managers and Operation Coordinators, a successful candidate will be responsible for the growth, quality, automation, and profitability of an industry vertical in the Uber Freight European marketplace. The candidate will also be responsible for managing a team, ensuring high morale, and working cross-functionally to optimize efficiency. Associate Managers are expected to adapt to change and drive new processes as UF develops and continues to grow.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage a portfolio of customers, and simultaneously onboard new customers successfully.
  • Manage an ever-growing team, lead meetings, and provide perpetual growth and career development for reports.
  • Lead and create QBRs with current customer accounts, developing and offering strategies to fix problems and drive continuous growth.
  • Ensure that each account is meeting or exceeding customer KPIs.
  • Develop a positive culture that puts people first.
  • Work tirelessly to earn our customers’ trust and business by solving their problems, improving our service, and lowering their costs. You aim to surprise and delight them, always.
  • Communicate across the organization, engaging with peers in every department to improve service, streamline processes, and elevate the shipper experience.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5-8 years relevant experience, and at least 2 years of experience managing an Operations team with 4+ team members
  • A track record of being a leader and problem solver
  • A bias for action; ability to collect buy-in for an idea and then carry it forward through execution
  • Strong interpersonal skills; you can participate in a team environment and build strong working relationships
  • The ability to manage a team made up of different learning styles
  • Effective communication skills both internally and externally
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • An understanding of all levers of the business and a proven history of delivering results
  • An appetite for risk - Sometimes you fail, but you get back up, make the next bet, and GO!

About the Team

 

The Uber Freight Account Management team serves as a partner to our external clients and internal sales team, anticipating challenges and presenting solutions to support Uber Freight's business objectives. They help build and ensure sustainable growth for the European business.
