About the Role

 

 

The UK Cities Team is at the heart of our drive to make Uber both big and beloved by the people that matter in the cities we serve - both now and in the future. We are on the front line when it comes to defending our licence to operate, advocating for our vision for urban mobility, striking strategic partnerships and celebrating cities in ways only Uber can.

 

As the Cities Lead for Scotland & North East you will hold the critical role in developing and nurturing critical relationships in your cities for Uber that will grow our business, raise our profile across fast growth cities. This role will be the interface between the business and our key stakeholders in our cities.

 

Due to the significant external time commitment required by this role, you will need to be prepared to travel in and around Scotland and the North East for a significant part of the time.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

 

The successful candidate will deliver Uber's vision in partnering with Cities.  They will also be able to proactively identify, engage and build advocates amongst key stakeholders in these cities that can help support Uber’s mission.

 

What you will need:

  • A minimum 7 years consulting, operations, policy / think tank, regulatory experience, or start- up experience
  • Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgement
  • Outstanding negotiation, conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills
  • Stellar networking flair and the ability to make partnerships happen
  • A creative approach and a rounded understanding of everything Uber does
  • A proven ability to work cross-functionally
  • Flexibility to travel and passion for being in the cities we serve

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with Scotland & North E cities, including local networks
  • Local policy and / or regulatory background
