About the Role

 

Uber Eats UX Research is hiring research managers to help create meaningful user experiences and strategy, and level up Uber’s array of products globally - specifically for our growing eater and courier teams in SF and our restaurant team in NYC.

The UX Research team’s mission is to inform and influence product decisions with exceptional insights about people, technology and services in our current and future world.

 

At Uber, we spend our days bridging the gap between physical and digital experiences, and adding value to people’s everyday lives by creating transportation options and economic opportunities. At Uber Eats specifically, we want to enable opportunity for restaurants of all types, around the globe, and we're seeking research partners who can help us understand how best to do so.  

 

How can you help?

If you’re a research manager who's inspired by these missions, and who is unafraid to push the limits and looking to work with sharp, motivated co-workers in a fun office environment, we’d love to talk with you.

What you'll do

  • Lead a team of researchers to explore opportunities, generate product and service ideas, evaluate designs-in-progress, and conduct causal research to explain the behavior found in our massive data stores, and outside of them - in the physical world of restaurants
  • Use your expertise to teach your quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Guide team members to help them work effectively with product teams
  • Be a thought partner to help team members invent and pioneer research methods
  • Collaborate with design, product, data science, engineering, marketing, and other cross-functional leaders
  • Focus on business goals to enhance the impact of your team's efforts

 

What you'll need

  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience
  • Deep understanding of research methods, with experience in both qualitative and quantitative research
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct research in close collaboration with people in a variety of roles, including design, engineering, and product management
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively--verbally and in writing
  • The drive to explore and define research opportunities throughout the company
  • Ability to travel occasionally in the United States and abroad

The Uber Eats design team works across all three sides of the Eats marketplace (restaurants, couriers, and eaters) to realize our mission of eating well effortless, everyday, for everyone. We combine thoughtful design with cutting edge machine learning to help people find food they’ll love. We embrace the challenge of solving complex logistical problems to create simple, beautiful delivery experiences. We work hand in glove with our restaurant partners, helping them achieve operational and culinary excellence. We reach eaters around the globe, expanding their idea of what food delivery can be, and we’re just getting started.
