When you’re on a trip, your liability to third parties is covered by Uber’s $1 million insurance policy. It covers each and every incident that occurs between accepting a trip and reaching the rider’s destination.
Our commercial insurance policy covers drivers’ liability to riders and takes precedence over any personal auto coverage.
$1M Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Injury
If another motorist causes the accident but doesn’t have adequate insurance, this policy covers bodily injury of anyone in the rideshare vehicle.
Contingent Collision and Comprehensive¹
As long as a rideshare driver has personal collision or comprehensive insurance, this policy covers physical damage that occurs during a trip and is subject to a deductible.
Even when you haven’t yet accepted a trip, Uber provides a 3rd party liability policy that meets or exceeds the third party liability insurance requirements of every US state.
Liability (When Necessary)²
Covers bodily injury up to $50,000/individual/accident with a total of $100,000/accident and up to $25,000 for property damage.
Drivers are required to maintain personal automobile insurance that meets state regulations where they want to drive.
All UberBLACK, UberSUV, and uberTAXI rides are provided by commercially licensed and insured partners and drivers. Those transportation providers are covered by commercial insurance policies in accordance with local and state requirements.
Driving with Uber is your way to earn extra money anytime. And with more riders and trips than any other service, there’s more money around every corner.
When you drive with Uber, you get 24/7 driver support and insurance coverage. And all riders are verified with their personal information and phone number, so you’ll know who you’re picking up and so will we.
¹ Pay for damage to your vehicle if you maintain auto insurance that includes collision coverage for that vehicle.
² We maintain automobile liability insurance on your behalf if you do not maintain applicable insurance of at least this amount.
Note: Additional coverage will be provided where required by state and local laws. At least this much coverage is provided in all US states for drivers while operating personal vehicles under the transportation network company model.
