To allow for more distance between riders and drivers, passengers are no longer allowed to sit in the front seat when riding with Uber. This means every ride requested with Uber will have one less passenger seat available.
Together, we save
UberPool matches you with riders heading in the same direction, so you can share the ride and cost.
• Affordable door-to-door rides
• Carpool with others in comfortable sedans
• Maximum 2 seats per request
Open the Uber app and enter your destination in the "Where to?" box. Tap the UberPool ride option at the bottom of your screen. Then tap Confirm UberPool. You can request a Pool for up to 2 people.
You’ll see the time until your driver arrives, as well as the estimated window of time to arrive at your destination.
Look at the map in the Uber app as you walk to your pickup spot. Be at the curb before your driver arrives to make sure no one in your car is kept waiting.
We’ll match your car with other riders heading your way. This is how we can offer you a low price, so expect additional pick ups and/or drop offs along your trip.
What’s different about UberPool
When you time your ride right, UberPool can be magical. Be at the curb ready to go before your driver arrives to make sure no one in your car is kept waiting.
Once your UberPool trip starts, your destination is set and locked. This helps us figure out who else to pick up and the best route to take.
You can ride UberPool with a friend, but if you’re riding with more than 2 people or extra luggage, request uberX or uberXL.
What to expect along the way
It depends on the space in the car and number of riders. If you’re traveling with luggage, we recommend trying UberX.
It’s a party! UberPool only allows 2 per request, but you can use UberX or UberXL for larger groups.
On average, riding with UberPool only adds a few minutes to your overall trip time. We’ll always show your estimated arrival time in the app as you ride.
