我何时享有保障?
Protection for a covered accident or theft starts as soon as you have enrolled and completed one trip. Although you’re only charged for miles while you’re on-trip with a passenger or on your way to drop off an order, you are protected for accidents or theft covered by the policy during these 2 scenarios:
- While you’re en route to pick up a passenger or delivery
- While you’re on a trip using the Uber Driver app
Vehicle Interruption Coverage doesn’t apply when you’re performing services for another company, when driving your vehicle for personal use, or for any accidents or thefts that occur before you're en route to the first requested pick-up location through the Uber Driver app or after the trip has completed.
Do I need Vehicle Interruption Coverage in order to drive with Uber?
No. Vehicle Interruption Coverage is completely optional. You can enroll or terminate coverage at any time.
What does Vehicle Interruption Coverage cost, and how do I pay for it?
Coverage costs $0.031 per mile while on covered trips. The cost is calculated based on miles traveled while you’re on a trip with a rider or on your way to drop off an order, and is rounded to the nearest cent at the end of each trip. You’re only charged for the miles while you’re on a trip, but the coverage extends while you’re en route or on trip. The payment process is simple. When you enroll for Vehicle Interruption Coverage, you'll also authorize Uber to deduct the per-mile cost from your earnings to facilitate payment. If you decide you no longer want Vehicle Interruption Coverage, you can cancel it at any time.
Please note the rate is subject to change. Insureds will be notified in advance of any rate changes through either an email notification from Chubb.
Is there a limit on the number of claims?
