The Operations teams are the heart and soul of Uber. This is the team that takes our global product and localizes it to an assigned market, while creating thousands of economic opportunities for drivers, and making transportation more accessible for riders. We’re in the midst of incredible growth, which requires hard work.
The Central Operations team is the powerhouse behind operations in Sub-Saharan Africa. We work together with stakeholders in regional and functional teams across all markets, to provide strategic operational guidance to execute centrally. The team is 15 people strong, and we’re passionate about growing this exciting market.
At Uber, support is more than just answering questions. It's about using the insights that customers give us to help grow the business and improve the customer experience. Moreover, it’s about providing amazing support that establishes trust within our community - for both riders and drivers. We're obsessed about providing the highest quality service, in the smartest and most efficient way. For Uber to continue its growth and success, we need to be able to not only improve but also scale our fast-growing support operations.
Our Public Policy team is responsible for working with policymakers and third-parties to make the positive case for Uber. That's partly about building lasting relationships in the cities where we operate - with politicians and their staff so they understand the benefits of ridesharing. This includes strategizing on the best possible local regulatory framework and developing campaigns to push reform through.
Our Communications team is responsible for building relationships with local media, as well as educating the public about Uber’s business model and products. This includes ensuring that users are aware of Uber’s contribution to the future of urban mobility. By telling the Uber story externally, we’re making sure to support the company’s short-term and long-term business goals.
