Engineering Manager As an Engineering leader for more than 5 years here at Uber, I’ve had the pleasure of leading teams across mobile engineering, Uber Freight, and now in IT Eng. My teams and I have deployed over 1 million mobile devices across Uber partners, including Uber Eats restaurants. I’m also the longest-serving co-chair in our ERG. I was born in Guadalajara and raised in SF, but I had the pleasure of spending every summer in Mexico growing up. I stepped in to co-chair Los Ubers about 3 years ago. Alongside my fellow co-chairs, I’ve helped steer and grow the ERG, build partnerships with other tech companies’ ERGs, and host events at HQ where we’ve had guest speakers, celebrations, and even large events. I frequently speak on panels about D&I and my journey as an immigrant. I enjoy mentoring and seeing others succeed. I'm excited to continue building a diverse and inclusive culture at Uber.
Events Manager
I joined Uber in early 2015 as a City Marketing Manager for the Midwest, and today I lead Event Marketing for Uber Freight. During my time at Uber, I’ve helped launch Uber in over 20 cities, helped manage relationships with several of our pro sports teams, helped bring puppies and kittens to riders on demand, and spearheaded our efforts at Super Bowl 52. I’ve been a champion for D&I through helping launch a few Chicago ERG chapters, organizing diversity and inclusion trainings for all Chicago-based managers, and most recently serving as one of the Uber Freight D&I Committee Leads.
Executive Sponsor, VP Uber Everything
"In my time at Uber, I've been exposed to so many fascinating topics, but one of the most interesting and unsolved is the challenge of building a diverse and inclusive work environment where perspectives from people of all backgrounds can contribute positively to our products and businesses. Often D&I is positioned as a cultural challenge, but I see it as a business imperative if we are going to build a global business and service a diverse customer base. I'm excited to be the executive sponsor of Los Ubers. On the professional front, I want to dig in to the specific challenges of the Latinx community as it pertains to achieving success in the tech industry. It will be an area of professional development from me learning from the Los Ubers ERG. On the personal front, I grew up in the Bay Area, and the Latinx community has been a huge part of the growth of our state, so I'm excited to support it however I can."

We arranged an UberEspañol driver appreciation event in Chicago.
In 2018 – 2019, Los Ubers partnered with dev/Mission and Latinas in Tech, and we hosted numerous educational tours and speakers.
