Uber stands in solidarity with the Black community and with peaceful protests against the injustice and racism that have plagued our nation for too long. My hope is that if each of us recommits to doing all we can to counter bigotry wherever we see it, change will follow.
We know there is no easy solution to the problems we have faced for centuries. As a starting point, we will use Uber Eats to promote Black-owned restaurants while making it easier for you to support them, with no Delivery Fees for the remainder of the year. Additionally, we’re donating $1M to the Center for Policing Equity and the Equal Justice Initiative to support their important work in making criminal justice in America more just for all.

Help the people who move what matters
Millions of restaurant workers and delivery people have been affected by this crisis, with many losing their jobs as businesses are forced to close their dining rooms—and in many cases shutting their doors entirely. Supporting our restaurant communities has never been more important. Uber Eats is committed to helping local restaurants keep moving and now you can too.
Working together to support local communities
Recognizing how important it was for all of us to help the restaurant community during this time, we created a way for you to give directly to the restaurants you love. Unsurprisingly, you’ve made a tremendous impact on restaurants through your generous contributions*.
Restaurant contributions are now available in over 20 countries, allowing others to give directly to restaurants around the world.
*Contributions to restaurants are not tax deductible.
Restaurant Employee Relief Fund
Uber is proud to be a founding partner of the National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Employee Relief Fund (RERF).
You’ve given $3M and counting to local restaurants in the Uber Eats app. As a result, Uber will match those contributions with a donation to the National Restaurant Relief Fund, to bring our total donation to $5M, supporting restaurant workers and delivery people who have been financially impacted by this pandemic.
Thank you for supporting local restaurants. You can continue to give to the restaurants you love at checkout.
Protecting the health and safety of our community
To help protect yourself, your loved ones and your community, we are encouraging use of no-contact delivery. Please update your app and select "leave at door" at checkout.
If you’re able to, don’t forget to thank your delivery person with a tip—they’re working hard for you.
