Women at Uber
We are a catalyst for a thriving Uber culture. Our employee resource group (ERG) promotes the advancement of women at Uber through our network, access to leadership, professional development, and peer mentoring. All employees are invited to join our community.
Our mission
Our ERG’s mission is to connect, empower, and support the advancement of women at Uber. We’re building a strong community of women and allies to share knowledge, provide access to leadership and mentoring, and attract and retain top talent to Uber. Women at Uber is open to everyone.
What we stand for
Empowering women’s professional growth and experience at Uber
We organize roundtables and support gigs and short-term assignments so women can build the skills needed for their next step. We also provide support with mentorship, coaching, and sponsorship programs. Plus, we’re constantly building strong communities of women and allies.
Inspiring the next generation of women in tech
We organize events with young girls so they can get introduced to what a career in tech might look like. (Initiatives such as #She++ are an example.) Our ERG also organizes workshops and roundtables between companies to share learnings
Increasing the number of women who earn on the platform
In close collaboration with our operations teams, we’re committed to connecting, nurturing, and empowering our women driver base. This vision comes to life through our community program, #GigSister
"Uber operates at the intersection of the digital and physical worlds. We have a responsibility to ensure that our team and our platform represent the diversity of the societies we operate in. And we take this responsibility very seriously.
“Women at Uber exists to promote representation of women within our workforce, the tech sector, and the mobility industry; to help women succeed and advance in their careers; and to do the right thing for women, our business, and society at large.
“I'm proud to work side by side with a group of talented people who are actively creating opportunities to enable the growth and development of this community.”
Anabel Diaz, VP, EMEA Mobility RGM, and Women at Uber EMEA Sponsor
External initiatives
#GigSister
#GigSister is a self-sustaining program to connect, grow, and empower a community of women drivers on the Uber platform through an array of initiatives year-round.
We’ve already organized over 10 events across different countries, and we’re looking forward to expanding this initiative even further in the years ahead.
She++
Uber hosts the She++ professional development summit to empower women and people from underserved communities to find and achieve their career ambitions. To foster a community for the next generation in tech, we offer opportunities to network with our leaders, meet nearby peers, attend professional development sessions, and explore life at Uber.
Women in Tech Regatta
In 2023, Women at Uber sponsored the Women in Tech Regatta, a global gathering that connects wo(men) in tech to mentors, peers, and resources. The seventh-annual Women in Tech Regatta (WiT) included activities, events, panels, and workshops designed to drive positive change, innovation, and workplace diversity in the tech industry. All people were welcome, regardless of gender, job function, or career level
