How to drive with Uber in Sweden

Uber is a great way to be your own boss and make money. Most people with a taxi driver's license are eligible to drive with Uber. Here’s what you need to know if you’re driving in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö.

Minimum requirements

Most people can drive with Uber, even if you don't have a car or a commercial driver's license. Requirements vary depending on the city, but here are a few minimum requirements:

 

  • Meet the minimum age requirement
  • Be legally allowed to drive in your country
  • Watch a short training video

Required documents

For the next step, share the documents listed below. If you want to use your own car, you must also provide registration and insurance documents.

  • Valid documentation to drive in your country
  • Proof of residence in your city, state, or province
  • A profile photo of the driver
    • It must be a forward-facing, centered photo where the entire face and upper part of the shoulders are visible, without sunglasses
    • It must be a photo of only the driver, with no other people in the picture, well-lit and sharp. It cannot be a photo of a driver's license or any other printed image
