These are the steps you need to complete to start driving with Uber.
1. Sign up to drive with Uber
2. Collect all required documents and add them to the driver app
You'll need a list of documents to get your license.
3. Visit the Uber Licensing Center in your city
Bring all your documents and we'll help you with the licensing process. Remember to add your medical check-up to the app before going to the Licensing Center.
4. Adjust the car to the taxi requirements
- You'll receive a taxi lamp (no permanent interference) and the required livery (we'll cover the cost)
- Go to the nearest Motor Vehicle Diagnostic Station for a car check-up
- Get the taxi stamp in your registration document in the office where the car is registered.
5. Get your license
Apply and pick up your taxi license, an excerpt from a license, taxi ID and a hologram (if applicable) in the City Hall.
6. Upload documents to the driver app
Before going online, upload all your documents to the driver app.
7. Start driving and gain your bonus!

You need to complete a medical assessment of your general and mental health to see if you are fit to drive a taxi. Once you pass the assessment. you'll be granted a fitness certificate - add it to your driver account.
4. Bring all documents to your Partner
Bring all the documents to your Partner and receive you Partner’s signature of the motion for taxi ID. Your Partner should authorise you to continue the process in the City Hall. Your Partner will also provide you with an excerpt from his taxi license for your vehicle.
5. Get your license
Apply and pick up your taxi ID and a hologram in the City Hall.
6. Upload documents to the driver app
Before going online, upload all your documents to the driver app.

- Is the car signage permanent and required?
The taxi lamp is easy to uninstall and doesn’t damage the car in any way. Signage is controlled by local requirements. More detailed information will be available in Uber Licensing Centers.
- I lease a car - is this gonna be an obstacle in the licensing process?
No, drivers leasing their cars can obtain a taxi license after adapting the car to the regulations.
- Do I need permission from my leaser?
Yes - to get your taxi license, you need to adapt your car to the new regulations. You need to get through technical inspection and obtain a taxi stamp in your registration documents. Getting the stamp will probably require action from your leaser.
- What about the costs rising after the new regulations - for example, the insurance costs?
We are negotiating with insurance companies and lessors to get Uber drivers and partners the best possible offers.
- When should I get through the licensing process?
The licensing process should be completed as soon as possible, considering the rising amount of drivers interested in licensing and the limited processing capability of local offices.
- Do the new rules apply to me if I have a car with up to 7 seats including the driver?
Yes, according to the new laws every driver driving a car with up to 7 seats is required to hold a taxi license.
- How can I start a business?
