How to drive with Uber in Poland
Uber is a great way to be your own boss and make money. Here’s what you need to know if you’re driving in Warsaw, Cracow, Poznań, Wrocław and other cities in Poland.
How it works
1. Register online or in the Uber Driver app
Provide your phone number and email address. You will receive messages regarding the next steps in the registration process on the platform.
2. Submit your documents
- Polish or European ID card, residence permit, or passport (you must be at least 18 years old)
- Driving license (front and back) with a least 1 year of experience
- Background check
- Real-time selfie for the profile photo
3. Find a fleet partner
To start rides, find a fleet partner with a company and the necessary taxi licenses for all the municipalities where you want to drive.
4. Get a vehicle
Determine which car is suitable for you, ensuring it meets Uber's standards in Poland. Remember that you'll earn more if you keep costs low.
Documents to upload for adding a vehicle in the Uber system:
- Front and back of the vehicle registration (with a taxi stamp)
- Liability insurance
- Taxi license excerpt (from your partnering company)
- Photo of the car with the visible license plate, city designation, and TAXI sign
Obtain a taxi stamp in the vehicle registration document. Required documents:
- Vehicle registration document
- Spare tire
- First aid kit
- Taxi lamp
- Uber app instead of a taxi meter
5. Obtain an excerpt for the vehicle
To apply, you'll need:
- Document allowing you to operate the vehicle
- Vehicle registration document with a taxi stamp
- Proof of payment

6. Undergo medical and psychological examinations
Find an appropriate facility by searching for "medical and psychological examination for taxi driver." Bring with you:
- ID (passport or ID card)
- Driving license
- Corrective glasses (if used)
7. Obtain a certificate of no criminal record and schedule a visit for the driver verification program
Apply for a certificate of no criminal record at:
- National Criminal Register Information Office (ul. Czerniakowska 100, 00-454 Warsaw)
- Online using the link
8. Pass the verification
Personal driver verification is a mandatory step to ensure the safety of all platform users and compliance with regulations. Bring physical originals of:
- Certificate of no criminal record (issued within 30 days of the verification date)
- Driving license
- ID document (ID card, residence card, or passport)
9. Obtain a taxi ID
The taxi driver identifier, associated with the fleet partner's taxi license, confirms the authorization to operate in a specific municipality.
Apply for a Taxi ID with:
- Medical and psychological examinations
- Background check
- Sworn translation of the driving license, if issued abroad
Submit the application at the communication department in any municipality. After receiving the document, add it to your Uber Driver account.
10. Activate your account
After adding all documents, passing verification, and adding a partner, your account will be active.
