Ensuring a safe arrival at your destination has always been our mission. Now we are going one step further and not only giving you peace of mind, but also saving your time! We’re kicking off a contest with a main prize of A Year of Free Uber Rides (worth up to 14590 PLN).

More than one person wins: we will also have silver and bronze prizes for 2nd and 3rd place at face value of 910 PLN and 550 PLN respectively.

What the contest is about

The contest will last for 3 weeks. Every Tuesday (during week 1 and week 2) you will receive a goal for the number of trips you have to complete during the week in order to pass on to the next stage. In the final (third) week of the contest, finalists will be sent 1 question to answer. The best answers according to the competition jury will win one of the 3 Prizes.

How to participate

  OFFICIAL “DITCH YOUR KEYS”  TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLY TO YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE “DITCH YOUR KEYS” PROMOTION CAMPAIGN.

  By participating in this Promotion, I confirm that I have read, understood and consent to these Terms and Conditions.

  Eligibility Requirements; Participation: The following eligibility requirements and participation criteria apply to you:

  • The opening time and date of the Promotion is 8 October 2018 and the Promotion will end at 11:59 a.m. on 4th November 11:59 pm (the “Promotion Period”).

  • The Promotion is open to individuals who
    • are aged 18 years or over taking most trips in the area of Poland, except any director, member, partner, employee or agent of, or consultant to Uber B.V. (“Uber”), any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by Uber,  or any third party directly associated with administration of the prize competition;
    • have opted into (through a personalised email from Uber to the email account registered to your Uber user account) the Promotion by 11:59 p.m. on 14th October 2018.

  • During the Promotion Period, Uber will communicate to you a “trips goal,” which shall be the number of completed trips that you need to take within a prescribed period of time (explained below) in order to be eligible for the prize.  

  • A completed trip means a trip in which the rider has requested a trip through the Uber Application (“Uber App”), been collected from a pick-up point (and the driver has started the trip through the Uber App), dropped off at a prescribed destination (and the driver has ended the trip through the Uber App), and received a receipt for the trip taken.   
  • Neither trips taken outside of the indicated below week nor outside of Poland will not be considered towards that week’s trips goal.  

  • Uber will determine your trips goal based on objective criteria to be determined and applied by Uber at its sole discretion.  
    • The trips goal will be based on the average number of trips that you have taken in a week in 2018 and, as such, the trips goal may change from week to week.
  • Uber accepts no responsibility for trips not successfully completed due to a force major event or technical fault including, but not limited to, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.

  *All times are in Central European Time and trips period are looked within local time standards.

  Competition:

  • At the end of each prescribed weekly period, Uber will determine and notify (by email to the email account registered to the Uber user account) the week’s winners, which will be all eligible participants who met their respective weekly trip goal for that period.  

  • There will be a Grand Prize for a chosen rider from those who completed all trip goals and answered a final question in the most interesting  way. The winner will be chosen by Committee consisting of 5 people. For a clarity purposes:
    • • Grand Prize is a 1 year of free rides. Grand Prize amount of 14590 PLN was calculated as what is estimated as average trip fare in the market multiplied by 2 trips per day at a year.

  • Regarding the Prize of free rides through the Uber App worth a total of 14590 PLN

  • • The finals will be held on November 8th 2018.  A winner will be notified by email to the email account and mobile number registered to Uber user account and shared with Uber separately and to be invited to visit the office.
    • If the drawing winner does not inform Uber in writing of their acceptance of the Prize within one (1) week of being notified by Uber or doesn’t appear to collect the prize, then the winner’s Prize will be forfeited. Uber will reward the next best participant and will continue to do so until a winner has accepted the Prize.
    • The discount will be auto-applied to the Winner’s Uber account and will be redeemable (i) only on trips taken in cities in Poland where the Uber app is available; (ii) subject to the standard terms and conditions governing access and use of the Uber App by all riders who use the platform; and (iii) subject to the availability of Uber partner-drivers at the time of requesting.
    • The discount cannot be transferred, duplicated or sold and has no cash value.
    • The discount is valid up to one (1) year from the date that the discount is applied to the individual’s Uber account.
    • The discount cannot be combined with any promotional codes or other promotions.
      • 2nd best answer will win 910 PLN after tax deduction and 3rd best answer submitted by finalists will win  550 PLN after tax deduction. 
    • Uber reserves the right to replace the Prizes (or any part of them) with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond Uber’s control make it necessary to do so. The Prizes (or any part of them) are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and not for sale, and no substitution by any member of the winning team and no cash alternative is offered.

  General:

  • The decision of Uber regarding any aspect of the Competition or Prize is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

  • Uber assumes no responsibility for any typographical or other error in the administration of the Promotion or the Competition, errors in processing entries, identifying the Prize winners, in the announcement of the winners or the delivery of the Prizes.

  • To the extent permitted by law, Uber reserves the right to change the Terms and Conditions for this Promotion without any notice.  Any changes to the Promotion details or these Terms and Conditions will be posted on Uber’s website.

  • You are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions upon opting into the Promotion. Uber reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the Prize to anyone in breach of these Terms and Conditions and/or applicable laws and regulations of the country in which you reside.

  • Uber reserves the right to use submitted stories anonymously for later business purposes. Uber will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate any individual who is unable to participate in the Promotion or redeem their Prize under the Promotion due to breach of these Terms and Conditions and/or failure to comply with applicable laws and regulations of the country in which you reside.

  • If there is any reason to believe that there has been a violation (or attempted violation) of these Terms and Conditions, the spirit of these Terms and Conditions, and/or applicable laws and regulations of the country in which you reside, Uber may, at its sole discretion, refuse to process your Prize and/or void your entry to the Promotion.  

  • Extensions of deadlines are not permitted at any time.   
  • Each winner is solely liable for any and all taxes applicable to receipt of the Prize and Uber incurs no liability in respect thereof.

  • Uber reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the Promotion or the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

  • Insofar as is permitted by law, Uber, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate a participant or accept any liability (whether direct, indirect, special, incidental, exemplary, punitive or consequential) for any loss, damage, personal injury or death arising out of or in connection with any participant’s participation in the Promotion, Competition or taking up the Prize, whether such liability arises from any claim based upon contract, warranty, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, and whether or not Uber or their affiliates have been advised of the possibility of such loss, damage, personal injury or death. Your statutory rights are not affected.

  • Any liability of Uber arising in connection with the Promotion shall be several and Uber accepts no joint and several liability in connection with the Promotion.

  • Each winner may be required to participate in publicity related to the Prize which may include the publication of their name and photograph in any media upon their consent.

  • Personal data supplied during the course of this Promotion may be passed on to third party suppliers only insofar as required for fulfilment/delivery/arrangement of the Prize.

  • Uber reserves the right to modify and amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time during the Promotion Period.

  • The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision, or part thereof, of these Terms and Conditions will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision or part thereof. In the event that any provision, or part thereof, of these Terms and Conditions is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, the other provisions, or parts thereof, will remain in effect and will be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. Uber’s failure to enforce any term of these Terms and Conditions will not constitute a waiver of that term or any other provision of these Terms and Conditions.

  • In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in the Promotion–related materials and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail, govern and control and the discrepancy will be resolved in Uber’s sole and absolute discretion.

  • All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Terms and Conditions, or the rights and obligations of the participants and Uber or their affiliates in connection with the Promotion, Competition or the Prize (whether contractual or non-contractual), shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of Poland.

  • Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations, as the case may be, created for either you or Uber in terms of the applicable laws and regulations of the country in which you reside.

  • The promoter of this Promotion is Uber B.V., a private limited liability company incorporated under the laws of the Netherlands (registration number 56317441), with a registered address Meester Treublaan 7, 1097 DP Amsterdam.
