Uber, now entering its 9th year is at a fascinating stage of development. Marketing is forming, for the first time, a truly 21st century approach to brand building, establishing a marketing network that can leverage the unique ecosystem of drivers, riders, couriers, and employees that all have the potential to help build one of this century’s greatest icons.

Uber’s Head of the Marketing Network is looking for an energetic, strategic planner and communicator to support the work of this evolving network. Primary responsibilities in the first 6-12 months of the role will focus on marketing’s transition into a global marketing network and driving high-priority projects and alignment across the globe. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to communicate and work collaboratively with a variety of teams and personalities, as well as have a passion for analyzing complex organizational situations. Experience in management consulting, strategy and PMO roles preferred. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide primary program-management support for senior marketing leaders, working closely with the head of the marketing network as they design and stand up their new organization and relevant processes
  • Lead PMO-type efforts bringing together cross-functional teams to drive decision-making and execute against marketing network priorities
  • Drive strategic recommendations through to execution, ensuring proposals are resourced and implemented successfully and delivering real impact to the organization
  • Initiatives involve large-scale projects and programs, and include initiation (scope, major deliverables, cost estimates, timelines), planning and design (creating project team structure, managing project team, leading business requirements); execution (leading implementation of project or program) and close (documenting lessons learned, measuring outcomes against baseline).

Successful Applicant Will Demonstrate:

  • Ability to build consensus through strategic vision and outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of marketing’s core functions and capabilities
  • Ability to present and discuss information in a manner that persuades, educates, and enhances understanding at all levels
  • Robust organizational and project–management capabilities
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, combined with strategic business focus and vision

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years marketing experience
  • 6+ years of project management experience
  • 6+ years of experience managing large-scale initiatives and programs
  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Knowledge around agile methodology or Certified Scrum Master preferred, but not required
  • Experience leveraging resources across the organization to create effective project/program teams
  • Experience working closely with marketing and other senior leaders across the enterprise
  • Master's Degree
  • Business analysis experience preferred
