Vehicle requirements in Panama

Which car is right for you? Make sure it meets Uber car requirements in your city and remember that you’ll make more money if you keep your costs low.

Your vehicle must-haves

  • Valid E1 driver's license
  • Police record

If you are going to use your own car, you must also provide:

  • Third party insurance
  • Vehicle registration

If the car you are going to drive is not yours, you must also provide:

  • Notarized authorization of the owner of the vehicle

Security Certification

Once you upload your documents, a third-party company performs a security study which costs $10 (paid in one fee).

Vehicle requirements

  • 7-year-old vehicle or newer
  • 4-door vehicle with airbags in the two front seats
  • Good condition with no cosmetic damage
  • Air conditioning and seat belts
  • Insurance
  • All drivers must maintain their own insurance policy in accordance with state and local laws.

Most newer 4-door sedans qualify to drive with UberX, the most popular vehicle option for riders.

Aditional requirements:

  • Four-door sedan in good condition
  • Capacity for at least 4 passengers, in addition to the driver
  • Windows and air conditioning in working order
  • Equipped with airbags in both front seats
  • Seat belts available in all seating positions

UberXL

Seat extra passengers—and get higher fares—with your high-capacity vehicle. They must seat at least 6 riders in addition to the driver.

Additional requirements:

  • 4-door SUV or minivan
  • Capacity for at least 6 passengers, in addition to the driver
  • Three rows of seats
  • Windows and air conditioning in working order
  • Equipped with airbags in both front seats

UberBLACK

Offer luxury rides in the UberBLACK car service and earn higher rates. Additional requirements:

 

  • Minimum model year varies by vehicle, typically not older than 3 years
  • Capacity for at least 4 passengers, in addition to the driver
  • Windows and air conditioning in working order
  • Equipped with airbags in both front seats
  • Seat belts available in all seating positions
