It’s easy to get started.
1. Sign up online
Download the Uber Driver app from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Log in to your existing account or tap register to create a new account.
2. Complete sign-up steps
We’ll need a copy of a few personal documents. You will also need to lodge a background check.
Note: Requirements vary by city.
3. Start delivering
Once you have provided all the required documents, you should be able to start earning in around 5 business days.
Required steps and documents: Delivering by car, scooter or motorbike
Driver licence (front)
You’ll need to hold a valid, unrestricted driver licence for the vehicle type you want to deliver with. The licence must clearly show:
- Your photo
- Your name
- Your address
- The licence expiry date
- The class as open (provisional or probationary licences are not accepted)
Driver licence (back)
The back of your driver licence must clearly show:
- Issue date
- Expiry date
- Date of birth
- Update to address sticker (if applicable)
Right to Work (NZ/AU Passport, NZ Birth Certificate, Work Visa)
The document must clearly show:
- Legal given names (first name and any middle names)
- Surname
- Birth country
- Birth state
- Birth city
- Gender
- Date of birth
Vehicle registration certificate
The vehicle registration certificate must clearly show:
- Vehicle plate number
- VIN
- Vehicle make, model, and year
- Expiry date
Complete the Impairment Education Module
Upon sign up, you will receive the link to the impairment education module in-app and via email. Read and watch the safety videos and complete the test.

Required steps: Delivering by bicycle
Upload your proof of identity (ID) i.e. passport/driver licence
The passport or driver licence must clearly show:
- Legal given names (first name and any middle names)
- Surname
- Date of birth
Complete and pass the bicycle safety test
Upon sign up, you will receive the bike safety test in-app and via email. Read and watch the bicycle safety videos and complete the test.
