A couple weeks ago, we caught up with one of our uberX partners, Rolando. We met up at one of his favorite restaurants, El Barco, to learn more about his story and why he loves partnering with Uber.

Meet Rolando.

For as long as he can remember, Rolando has loved illustrating. His passion for art and design found its way into his career when he began working as a set designer for magazines and catalogs.

After spending years handcrafting sets for clients, Rolando decided to build something he’s never built before – his own business. Currently, Rolando runs his own furniture and cabinetry company. He uses reclaimed materials to craft custom furniture and homes. You can call him an earth-conscious craftsman.

When Rolando is unable to work on-site during the blistering Chicago winters, you can find him on the road driving with Uber. Being an Uber partner gives Rolando the flexibility to work year-round and helps satisfy his entrepreneurial itch.

If you are lucky enough to ride with Rolando, you’ll be instantly greeted with a big smile and friendly hello. “My favorite part of driving is the people, hands down,” Rolando says, “The stories you hear and the people you meet are amazing.” We agree.

Whether he’s designing or driving, Rolando always has a smile on his face. We’re absolutely thrilled to call Rolando an Uber partner, and we hope you see him on the road soon.
