Inner Mission

The San Francisco Inner Mission is a diverse neighborhood home to a mix of thrift stores, coffeehouses, bookstores, restaurants, and more. This area boasts a vibrant music and arts scene, hosting festivals, parades, and fairs throughout the year.

Hayes Valley

Hayes Valley is a happening San Francisco neighborhood with tree-lined streets, cafes, sweet shops, and upscale boutiques. The SFJAZZ Center is located here, as is the Octavia Art Gallery. Hayes Valley has plenty of tours for visitors to take, including food tours of top dining establishments and biking tours.

Mission Dolores

"The Mission" as it's called, is filled with popular coffee shops and restaurants; bars, and second-hand shops, making it a popular destination no matter the time of day. This neighborhood is also home to Dolores Park, which attracts people of all ages for picnics, partying, and people-watching. The area's popular residential area borders Valencia and Sanchez Streets, as well as 20th and 22nd Streets.

Civic Center

The Civic Center is a vast complex in San Francisco home to a range of landmarks and attractions, from government buildings to museums and theaters. Two such destinations include the Asian Art Museum and the War Memorial Opera House. Situated near the city's downtown area, there are also a variety of hotels in the area, like the Edwardian Hotel and the Oak Hotel. Civic Center is also home to restaurants, like Nojo Ramen Tavern and Zuni Cafe.

Potrero Hill

Located on the east side of San Francisco, Potrero Hill boasts views of San Francisco Bay and the city. This mostly-residential neighborhood is also home to sidewalk cafes, pizza places, bookstores, community gardens, and markets.

The Castro

An iconic San Francisco neighborhood, The Castro was one of the country's first gay neighborhoods. Tourists and locals alike head to The Castro to enjoy its great food scene as well as its gay bars and nightclubs. The Castro Theatre, which shows movies and also hosts sing-alongs and the GLBT Historic Museum are two of the neighborhood's standout attractions.
