Get to know nearby neighborhoods

Hayes Valley

Hayes Valley is a happening San Francisco neighborhood with tree-lined streets, cafes, sweet shops, and upscale boutiques. The SFJAZZ Center is located here, as is the Octavia Art Gallery. Hayes Valley has plenty of tours for visitors to take, including food tours of top dining establishments and biking tours.

Lower Haight

Visit the Lower Haight and you'll find Victorian-era houses, cafes, small shops, and happening bars, most of which surround Haight and Fillmore streets. Just a stroll from the popular Divisadero Street and the charming Duboce Park, there's plenty of places to explore in and around the Lower Haight. One such bar is Toronado's, whose lengthy list of beers on tap attract locals thirsty for a beer.

Alamo Square

This residential neighborhood is home to the famous "Painted Ladies" houses on Postcard Row as well as Alamo Square Park, a hilly green park boasting amazing views of the San Francisco's downtown cityscape. NoPa and Hayes Valley are not far from this picturesque part of town, where visitors can find shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Haight Ashbury

Haight Ashbury is an iconic San Francisco neighborhood, famous for being the historical hub of the hippie movement. Visitors here can experience the counterculture movement here to this day by visiting the Grateful Dead House and walking through the countless tie dye shops that line Haight Street. This neighborhood is also home to popular restaurants like Parada 22 and Magnolia Gastropub and Brewery.

Pacific Heights

Pacific Heights is a San Francisco neighborhood famous for its architecture, beautiful homes, and high-end shopping. Plenty of restaurants and boutiques line Fillmore Street, which runs through both Lower Pacific Heights and Pacific Heights, like Pizzeria Delfina and Fresca Fillmore for dining, and Credo Beauty and INTERMIX for shopping. This upscale neighborhood also offers scenic views of the Bay, depending on the location.

Lower Pacific Heights

Lower Pacific Heights, situated near Japantown and the Pacific Heights neighborhood, is home to a variety of coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, and Victorian-style homes. Head to the neighboring Japantown and find spas, the popular AMC Kabuki 8, Japanese stores, and other popular shops.
