Union Street

Union Street, which runs horizontally across the northern part of the city, is lined with fine dining, art galleries, trendy boutiques, jewelry stores, spas, restaurants, cafes, and more. Festivals take place throughout the year along this historical street, such as the Union Street Music Festival, Fantasy of Lights, Easter Parade, Annual Union Street Harvest Wine Walk, and more. Marina District

Situated on San Francisco's northern waterfront, the Marina District sits at the edge of the San Francisco Bay, boasting views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. "The Marina", as it's called, is picturesque and brims with shops, restaurants, and bars. Home to the Palace of Fine Arts, Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture, and a vibrant Sunday Farmers' Market, there's no shortage of things to do and places to visit any day of the week in this neighborhood.

Soma

SoMa, or the South of Market neighborhood, is home to AT&T Stadium, the home of the San Francisco Giants, as well as plenty of locally-owned coffee bars and pubs, restaurants, art galleries, and boutiques, some of which are housed in the district's old warehouses. With many office buildings and companies based here, many locals head to SoMa to work Monday through Friday and for nightlife on the weekends.

Polk Gulch

Polk Gulch, located near the bay, is known for being the original center of San Francisco's LGBT community. The neighborhood is near Russian Hill as well as Nob Hill and is only blocks away from Fisherman's Wharf. Grocery stores, restaurants, hotels, markets, and cafes are all found in the area. Polk Gulch is also near the cable car museum.

"The Mission" as it's called, is filled with popular coffee shops and restaurants; bars, and second-hand shops, making it a popular destination no matter the time of day. This neighborhood is also home to Dolores Park, which attracts people of all ages for picnics, partying, and people-watching. The area's popular residential area borders Valencia and Sanchez Streets, as well as 20th and 22nd Streets.
