Presidio

With community gardens, hiking and biking trails; and events open to the public, the 1,500-acre Presidio is a popular destination for outdoor activities in San Francisco. A former military post, the Presido is now home to the Walt Disney Family Museum, as well as offices, homes, and of course, expansive wilderness. With its northern edge bordering the waterfront, the Presidio is a popular place to relax, picnic, and enjoy views of the water and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Inner Mission

The San Francisco Inner Mission is a diverse neighborhood home to a mix of thrift stores, coffeehouses, bookstores, restaurants, and more. This area boasts a vibrant music and arts scene, hosting festivals, parades, and fairs throughout the year.

Mission Dolores

"The Mission" as it's called, is filled with popular coffee shops and restaurants; bars, and second-hand shops, making it a popular destination no matter the time of day. This neighborhood is also home to Dolores Park, which attracts people of all ages for picnics, partying, and people-watching. The area's popular residential area borders Valencia and Sanchez Streets, as well as 20th and 22nd Streets.

Marina District

Situated on San Francisco's northern waterfront, the Marina District sits at the edge of the San Francisco Bay, boasting views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. "The Marina", as it's called, is picturesque and brims with shops, restaurants, and bars. Home to the Palace of Fine Arts, Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture, and a vibrant Sunday Farmers' Market, there's no shortage of things to do and places to visit any day of the week in this neighborhood.

Fisherman's Wharf

Located on the city's northern waterfront, Fisherman's Wharf is one of the most popular tourist destinations in San Francisco. One of the area's main attractions is Pier 39, a plaza filled with stores selling San Francisco-themed goods, sweet shops, and seafood restaurants. Another popular attraction here is Ghirardelli Square, a public area home to shops, restaurants, and of course, Ghirardelli chocolate shops.

Soma

SoMa, or the South of Market neighborhood, is home to AT&T Stadium, the home of the San Francisco Giants, as well as plenty of locally-owned coffee bars and pubs, restaurants, art galleries, and boutiques, some of which are housed in the district's old warehouses. With many office buildings and companies based here, many locals head to SoMa to work Monday through Friday and for nightlife on the weekends.
